About the Florida spending data on this page

This page opens on the budget authority Florida enacted — the spending its legislature authorised for the fiscal year — broken down by the departments and programmes it was appropriated to. General appropriations by department, Census state-finance actuals and federal award totals.

Budget authority is permission to spend and is not the same as money spent. Where the Census Bureau has published closed-book actuals for Florida, they appear alongside the enacted figures rather than replacing them, and the federal awards flowing into the state are shown separately again, because a large share of state health, transport and education spending originates federally.

Figures on this page are shown for FY2025. ImpactLine does not add its own estimates or fill in values a government has not published — read the methodology and sources for how each figure is assembled.
