ImpactLine Privacy Policy

The ImpactLine iOS and Android apps provide public fiscal records without requiring an account. Saved places and cached city snapshots are stored on your device. The apps do not include an advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or tracking permission request, and do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location.

City searches, public-data refreshes, and state-icon downloads send requests to impactline.org. Requests may include your search text, selected jurisdiction, endpoint, IP address, and routine technical metadata processed by our hosting and security providers as described below. Saved-place lists are not uploaded by the app.

You can remove a saved place within the app. Device app-storage controls and uninstalling the app can remove local data; operating-system backups or restores may retain a copy according to your device settings. External source links, articles, support email, and the Receipts Act open outside the app. Information you submit through those destinations is governed by their applicable policies.

For privacy questions, corrections, or deletion requests relating to server-held information, email support@impactline.org. We may ask for the information necessary to locate and verify your request. We do not require you to create an account to use the app.

If you add your support, ImpactLine stores your name, email address, optional state or territory, consent statement, proposal version, submission date and optional update preference in private storage administered by ImpactLine on Vercel. Email addresses are normalized to avoid duplicate records. These are self-reported statements of support; emails and voter eligibility are not verified.

Your personal details are not published, sold, passed to a political campaign, or submitted to officials. Optional proposal updates require a separate checkbox. Do not submit another person’s details. We retain support records while administering this initiative; you can ask to correct or withdraw your support and request deletion by emailing support@impactline.org from the address used to sign. We may need to verify the request before changing a record.

ImpactLine generally does not require a user account. When you use the website or API, the service may process the jurisdiction, fiscal year, endpoint, query parameters, and dashboard context needed to return the requested public data.

If you contact us by email or submit a support request, we process the contact information and message content you choose to send so we can respond.

ImpactLine displays and summarizes public-sector data from government APIs, fiscal reports, open-data portals, and official budget sources. Those source datasets may include public names of agencies, contractors, recipients, vendors, or public officials.

ImpactLine does not control the content of third-party public datasets. If a government source corrects, removes, or revises a record, ImpactLine may update its displayed data when its data pipeline refreshes.

ImpactLine and its hosting, database, monitoring, and API infrastructure providers may process routine technical information such as IP address, request time, URL, endpoint, response status, browser metadata, and rate-limit signals for security, reliability, abuse prevention, and diagnostics.

The website may use browser local storage to remember dashboard preferences, selected fiscal years, cached public API responses, and other performance-related state. You can clear this data through your browser settings.

Some ImpactLine features generate or retrieve analysis about public fiscal data. The public dashboard context, selected jurisdiction, fiscal year, and a user-entered question may be sent to server-side AI or analysis providers to return a summary or recommendation.

Do not submit private personal information, confidential government information, secrets, credentials, or non-public procurement data into any analysis or chat feature.

ImpactLine does not sell personal information. We may share technical and request data with service providers that host, secure, monitor, analyze, cache, or deliver the website and API, and when required by law or necessary to protect the service.

ImpactLine is intended for civic research, journalism, policy analysis, and public transparency work. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
